i started with nav 4 just one month back and i will be involved on the technical side. is it necessary for me to have functional kinowledge to work on the technical side.
I would say it is a requirement if you work with the standard Navision objects.
Of course if you throw all objects of standard Navision away and make your own application from scratch, you don't need the functional knowledge.

1. Understand the business process
