Question regarding the hardware guide

Hi forum,
the hardware guide recommends to use some kind of hardware if the SQL database is in between 40 and 80 Gb and if there are 51 to 150 concurrent users.
When the database is more than 80 Gb and if there are more than 150 users it recommends better hardware (of course).
But which way should we go when we have very large databases, but much less users?
I've to create some plan for the necessary hard- and software for the migration to Navision 4.0 of about 26 installations, which should also cover the future migration to SQL 2005. But most of the installations don't fit into the quite simplified scheme of the hardware guide.
I would really appreciate any input!
Kind regards,
Alex

I think the guide was just that a guildeline. I know you can get customer specific hardware and infrastructure recommendations for Navision through Microsoft. I think it is called BSA you can look it up on Partner Source, but there is a charge for this service.0

If you plan on using SQL, then get the best server your company has budget for. Don't use the guidelines, it's a bare minimum.

I know it doesn't really help, but each case is unique. It depends on how the database is used, what the network setup is, and many more things. Take the hardware reauirements to as solution center and get yourself educated. It might cost a few hours of consulting time, but it will be well spent.0
