Connecting to Business Analytics from the Client

jorgitojorgito Member Posts: 115
Hi all.

I am currently trying to install BA, but I cannot seem to be able to connect from another computer on the network.

I have installed SQL Server 2000 SP3a, SQL Server Analysis Service SP3a.
I have installed BA on the server.
I created the cubes inside Navision and ran the configurator, in order to create the stage database and the cubes inside the Analysis Service.
I have configured the BA Advanced and the ANT services have been created.
I changed the ANT services in Services window to log in as Local Account.
I restarted the ANT services
I opened the Analysis Suite on the server and it connected.
I opened the BA Enterprise Manager and gave permissions to the Domain Users (I selected Windows authentication).
I go to another PC and I install the BA Client.
I open the BA Analysis Suite and I get a "Windows cannot find the network path...".
I searched in Partnetsource and it says that I must setup the users correctly, but I already have!!

What am I doing wrong?

Thanx a lot
Jorgito

    Any firewall?
    Is the ANTServer running?
Some messages or errors in Event Log?

I do not use any Firewall, except for standard Windows Firewall.

The ANTserver is running on the server, but not on the client (it doesn't exist on the client!!)

I checked the error log and no messages exist on the server. On the client, I have the following messages:

    Event Type: Warning
    Event Source: SQLSERVERAGENT
    Event Category: Alert Engine
    Event ID: 312
    Date: 28/06/2006
    Time: 10:19:13
    User: N/A
    Computer: BS2
    Description:
Successfully re-opened the local eventlog - NOTE: Some events may have been missed.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

    AND

    Event Type: Warning
    Event Source: BROWSER
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 8021
    Date: 28/06/2006
    Time: 10:20:09
    User: N/A
    Computer: BS2
    Description:
The browser service was unable to retrieve a list of servers from the browser master \\ASTSRV on the network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{96C304C4-2E46-494E-90DD-7DEB80EA0BDD}.

    Browser master: \\ASTSRV
    Network: \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{96C304C4-2E46-494E-90DD-7DEB80EA0BDD}

This event may be caused by a temporary loss of network connectivity. If this message appears again, verify that the server is still connected to the network. The return code is in the Data text box.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Does it means "Yes, I am using Windows Firewall?" (I am not sure if I understand correctly)

It is correct. ANTServer is just on the server. Is the service running? (I want to be sure that from some mistake the service is not stopped)
I checked the error log and no messages exist on the server. On the client, I have the following messages:
    ....

Ok, these messages are not connected to the problem...

You need to add ANT ports into the firewall...
    TCP 1200
    [ANTdaemon.exe]
    TCP 1300
    [ANTserver.exe]
