Our 3.10 native db tends to slow down and eventually crash (once, twice a month). Rebooting the db service 'solves' the problem.

The eventlog on the Db-server registers the following event when de db performance is slowing down :
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: FRU
Event Category: None
Event ID: 109
Date: 6/26/2006
Time: 5:13:44 AM
User: N/A
Computer: SRV002
Description:
Error 33 in module 1. e:\Milos\10394\Source\Ide\server\SERVER.C(506)

This is what I can find on the Error 33 in module 1 :
"#Err_OS_LockViolation (Module_OS, 33 )"
But I have no idea what it means.

Has anyone experienced the same error? Are their fixes available?

thx

Are you using some anti-virus application on the server? Some scheduled jobs? It is in same time or randomly?

How are you backing up the database? while the server is running? hotcopy?

We're running trendmicro antivirus on the server.

Backups are done by file copy (had some problems in the past with hotcopy)

    Error pops up randomly

try to disable the antivirus or exclude the database files from virus checking...
