You can't have more BOM's for an item not using BOM versions.
Moreover there's only one active version at one time. This makes sense in a MPS/MRP environment. But you can change the BOM version in the Production Order Line (make visible the field). So you can use a different version even if it's not the default active version. Remember that all versions must be certified.

    Good Luck,
    :D

Sorry, but I cannot verify, I have no time and i don't remember well if the system when running mps/mrp ask the user to delete the Production Order and creates new production orders or it consider the production order still existing. However, the behaviour is the sequent on first run:

    1) Mps run
    2) Posting the MPS Lines
    3) changing the production order lines (they have the active version as default)

On second run (due to order changes or similar) I don't remember the behaviour. Look (and let us know....).

Have you tried a family feature in navision ? maybe it could be one of your solution, but if you have, item you can't activate all versions in the same time because there is a field start date in the version that govern the activating of the version in all planning procedures.

    Hi Ballello and johnson,

thank you for helping me .

Due to ballello response ... > i am going to production order ---> making the bom version visible ----> choosing other version ---> but cannot change the status unless by refreshing ---> and after refreshing it makes you come back to default version ----> so please how you are forcing the production to change the BOM version ... > I need to know

Due to johnson response what is family feature in Navision ---> may be i know it but not in the same name ... so please johnson can you let me more about the family feature in Naviion

    Thanks for Ballello
    Thanks for johnson

hoping to have more suggestions and replies
becuase i think if the system can hold many BOMs to one item depends on the UOM or on version of each BOM .. then all my problems will be solved due to production side

    Dear Jouhayna,
I guess you can use phantom BOM if you really want the BOMs can run for one item only, but if it still can't be used you may need to customized and created a certain table or form that the form maybe as same as family I mention.
The core of your question that is one item consists of more than one production BOM isn't it..?

When you run refresh method, you should uncheck the "lines" flag. You aren't going on changing lines, but only components and routing.
