How to upgrade Navision 3.7 Into 4.0?

Can u tell me how to upgrade navision 3.7 database into navision 4.0?Is their any PDF for upgradation.

Hi friend,
If you want to upgrade your navision database from 3.7 to 4.0, you must install NAV 4.0 program firsts (disk 1). You can download it from Microsoft, if you are working in a microsoft company's partner. You must understand also that your free space must be 50 MB in database and make a backup

Mark means "download section" of Mibuso, and there you can search for the upgrade toolkit. Or you can login into partnersource (if you are partner - and if you want to upgrade, you must be partner, else you will need Solution Developer license) and search for the 4.xx download section where you can download the toolkit...

When i am merging objects of 4.0 into 3.7.It shows me error but it is not showing me on which objects the error is coming

Their is no one who can guide in this process.

Wht i hv to do.Shall i hv to manually check the objects(Including Fields, forms,codeunit,dataports) coding and cut and paste into the 4.0 database.

Plz suggest me i need ur help

2) Which error, be more specific

First i create database into 4.0 Then i import 3.7 objects (Only not data).Then i import objects of standard 4.0 into new database it shows me worksheet Where I shows for tables(Merging for existing tables and create new for new tables).

For Forms ,Codeunit,Dataport It shows replacement.When i click on OK it shows me.

You hv specified an unknown variable

Define the variable under global C\AL Symbols


Suggest me in one more thing is it the right way for upgradation?

You are not following the upgrade toolkit documentation. Merging object does not mean to use "Merge" option in import worksheet...

You need to prepare customized 4.00 objects before you import the new objects over existing old version... Please, read carefully the documentation, it is not so simple... :?
