Hi folks, new member on here.
So we at the amibitious-young-ERP-wanna-be company have burned our midnight's oil and added more functionality to a 3rd party customization of a Navision based retail solution (
http://LSRetail.com) - for a client. We are a Microsoft Certified Partner (but not an MBS partner) - and we are in the so-called 'Microsoft Business Solutions Solution Provider Agreement' (
https://partner.microsoft.com/global/licensing/40014003) with Microsoft.
We've added several objects to augment the functionality of the retail system using our Developer license. However, using the Navision license that our client has - the objects we've added simply cannot be accessed/read/run.
How do we go about extending the client license so that they can use our objects?
Many thanks for reading this and for any pointers you have.
Paul.

The client needs to update (buy) the objects. I'm assuming you've developed them in 50000-999999 range. Find how many objects they are and at what range. MS charges 200$ per table or 800 $for 10 tables. and 200$ for 100 forms, reports,CU.

Thank you for such a helpful reply.
That's right; that's the range our Developer license allows us to develop in.
From what I understand then, our client would have to pay MS for an update to their license, even if they only want the usual read-and-execute functionality for the objects we have built for them. Is my understanding correct?
Thanks in advance,
Paul.
And as ara3n wrote, the client needs to have enough objects which can be assigned. They can be bought separately, or they can be part of Application builder, Report designer etc. granules (range 50000-50099). After customer buy the granules, you can assign the ID you want to use. it means, after that you need to say, ok, you have 10 tables now, and we want to use ID 60300..60309.

- if you are ordering Forms, Reports, Tables etc. you can specify the number range (between 50 000 - 99 9999)
- but if you are ordering Form Designer etc. instead, which is a good idea as it costs the same, it will always be 50000 - 50009 (and 50099 for Forms and Reports and Dataports)
- there is a renumbering tool on the Tools CD for migrating your objects to another range
- also, writing code like FORM.RUN(FORM::"Hypersonic Elephant Order"), instead of FORM.RUN(50067) helps such migrations.
The license configurator has been notorious at screwing the object ranges up.
