Hi all,

First post - waheyy!

Okay the company I work for are considering implementing a Navision solution. Everything in the solution looks cool and funky, but what I need more information on is what type of wireless connections can you have with Navision?

We have a Global Sales force who require access anytime, anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on where I can find information on the best solutions to allow this :?:

Cheers

Jim

    Hi

Try a Citrix solution with a thin client- it can work from any browser from anywhere where you have access to the i-net or can call the computer. It even works from a standard Nokia 9210.

Why not have a Terminal/Citrix server with a Navision client installed, and connected to the Internet. Then you can have access to all your Navision information through the Internet.

    Hi,

You might want to look into the handheld and Intenet solutions offered by ExpandIT. www.expandIT.com

    Thanks guys.

Citrix has been suggested before. Any ideas on a device which can offer fast and reliable Internet access to use in conjunction with Citrix?

    Hi,

Depneds what you are searching for. I alwas use my IPAQ with a GPRS Expansion Pack to Access Navision overa Citrix Client. It is fast (sometimes) and very reliable.
Another possibility is to use the USer Protal if it is for your Sales People.

    Kind regards

Unfortunatly our sales folk use Apple MAcs and the digital Dashboard which is used in the portal is not compatible with Macs.

    Are you based in America?

Plus what screens/info are you able to access in Navision? Is it restricted in any way?

In the US  no. I am based in Austria / Europe

The Screen Infos you can access are only the sales infos. Take a look at http://userportal.navision.com

The access is not restricted. You are abel to bring every Navision function in your portal, but it is a lot of work

So you login to the portal via your IPAQ?

What are the screens like? Does it keep them one consistent size and allow you to scroll across and down the screen?
