How to move item from Location A to Location B ?

Hi,
I need to move item from Location A to Location B, and at the end of the period I need to make report about these movements. Every movement need detailed information about carrier (Driver name, car registration number e.c.).
I see two solutions: 1) To use Item Reclass. Journal, extend Item Journal line with required additional fields. Modify posting routine to post additional fields to item ledger entry. For report purposes analyze item ledger entries. But in this case, users should put information on every journal line.
2) To use Transfer orders, extend Transfer Header with required additional fields. And for report purposes analyze Transfers headings.

Which solution is better and maybe there is beter solutions?

I suggest to use solution 2 because it is fully STD. Solution 1 requires a lot of work and heavy changes in in "touchy" CU like 22.

Only one problem : cost of the licence ...

I agree use Transfer Orders. The posting routines for it are very simply. Costing works fine, Warehouse management works with it.
All you'll be doing with option 1 is create Transfer Order functionlity. Don't want to make a lot of changes, and upgrade wase is not a good decision.

And basically with TO the functionality you mentioned is already implemented: a truck can be a Shipping Agent and the drive a Shipping Agent Service.

If you use item reclass journal, you'll have to make additional entries so the items can appear "in-transit". The transfer order functionality in Navision is actually very well designed IMO.

Besides, you won't be able to reclass locations in the item reclass journal.
