    Hi!

    GL & Posting group 63%
    Finance & Tax 54%
    Vendors & Customer 57%
    Currencies & ressource 40%
Analyze & report 57% is indeed a good score to start with.
Nav finance are very dificult and need to put something extra to clear it.

    Some tips for you:

Mear reading is not enough try all those sample sums in ezach head with the actual product itself.

What are the mannuals you are studying????
To clear and to get more than 80% you'll have to study :

    1. Essentials - Only Finance- this will help you score better in question pertaining to journals,Posting groups, dimensions (basic ques) etc
    2. Jobs & resource - though only a small part not more than 2 questions if you read this well you have all the chances of gertting all the 3 right
    3. Fixed Assets - Concentrate on Manitenance, insurance, FA Jounals and reports supporting the same
    4. Finance mgmt - the crux read every page of it
Concentrate more on the "NOTE" given in each and every chapter heads

For analysis and reporting segment: read and re read the Analysis reporting chapter in Fin.mgmt

    All the Best!!!

Don't forget Experience and practice is the key to clear the certifications.

    Thanks!!!

    Hey Shilpa

    THANKS for your answer :-)

    I use the following manuals:

    Navision 4.0 Introduction Course
    Navision 4.0 Financiel series 1
    Navision 4.0 Financiel series 2
    Navision 4.0 fixed assets
    Navision 4.0 Ressource and Jobs.

I get quite a lot of experience, because I work as a Finance controller!!

Did you past the test for the 1 time or?? If NOT was the question allmost the same for second time?? I have heard that from other person.

    hi there!

I did not clear it in first shot
    It's quite difficult to clear.
Not all questions are same. VERY VERY few questions are repeated.
    take your time to prepare.
give yourself a solid 15 days to prepare and write.
Since you are from a finance background think you would clear this time.

I did the same thing. infact i took my xam last friday and I cleared it.
    I scored 100% in 3 sections GL & Posting group 100%
    Finance & Tax 100% Analyze & report 100%
    Got a overall of 88%

    All the best!!!!

    warm regards

    Hi colleagues,

just red about the Finance Test you took.

Well - don't worry - even the most experienced Navision Specialists failed by the first try.

Thanks God I was lucky and passed by my first try. The best thing is normally if you take a training for Finance (here in Germany is a special trainings center only for partner - the offer as well courses for all modules as well "certification preparation days").

The manuals for 4.0 are nice as basics - but it is necessary to play around with Navision. Specially questions about forms can be nasty.

    Good luck for you!

    Hi Chandan,

Welcome on board in the big "Navision" world. First I would suggest, that visit some trainings about Navision and collect some experience with the solution. It makes no sense to start right away with the certifications!

Due the matter of fact, that we are right now on Version Nav. 4.x and 5.x will coming soon, it will only necessary to make examinations starting from Nav. 4.x.

Depending what you really want to do - Consultant or Developer - there are several different possiblities. As Consultant I would suggest the following: Financial Management, Trade & Inventory, Warehouse Management, CRM (2 exams).

As Developer: C/SIDE (both exams), Financial Management, Trade & Inventory.

Be aware, that we talking about an ERP-System - not office and not an OS. The whole solutions can be very difficile and it will take some time, until you will get familiar with it.

I wish you all the best and good luck!

    Hi Chandan,

well. I am now since over 6 years "in Navision" - and also I have to do my job. But our company make sure, that we have the chance to go to the trainings here in Hamburg or Nuernberg.
I can only suggest, that you visit FIRST some trainings, collect then some experience and then start with the certifications.

About "pdfs" - we have here some about programming but there are only in German. I would suggest that you contact your contact person from Microsoft and ask them for help. Normally they should now where you can get some files. Be aware, that documentation (for training) for 4.x has to be paid.

    Kind regards
    Sonja
