Smart Tags not showing in MS Word / Office

TallMikeyTallMikey Member Posts: 40
Hello, I have went thru and installed the Smart Tags on a develoment server, everything seems to have gone fine, but when I go to MS Word and go to the Auto-correct options, the Navision specific Smart Tags don't show up like they should! I have re-installed the Smart Tag client a few times but that didn't work. Any suggestions?

Thx
M

For our Belgian CD, there were a couple of DLLs missing. May be on yours too? You should contact your local MS office.

1) You need to check if the webservice is running correctly. Try to open URL like: http://<servername>/SmartTags/WebService.asmx?op=CacheStatus

Have you correct response or error?

2) If step 1 give you no error, webservice is running correctly. Check if you did all steps needed for generating data profiles. Follow the SmartTag documentation from DOC folder on install cd.

I had the same webcache.dll error as described below and it was able to fix it thanks to the topic. (I can see something hapening in the webservice instead of an error)

But still the smart tags aren't visible....
The only thing that could be different is that i'm using office 2007.

Anyone experienced the same?

It is working with Office 2007 without problems. But big problem is, that Microsoft canceled SmartTags granule and the granule cannot be bought anymore...

2) Have you installed the SmartTag client on your PC?
3) You need to enable the smarttags in Word, are you able to see the navision sources in the SmartTags sources list?

Sorry, no kidding, there is part from official document for partner I got two days ago:
The following Global Dynamics NAV granule is to be discontinued January 1, 2007:
SmartTags (Granule ID 5200)
From January 1, 2007 it will not be possible to purchase this granule.
Existing customers will be able to continue to utilize this granule.
This granule is the subject of an IP dispute and has therefore been discontinued with immediate effect.

Hi

I have the exact same problem. But I cannot find the webcaching.dll file.

Could anyone please send me the DLL or tell me where I can find it.

Thank you very much
