When running a creation of new Analysis View I am getting this error message in Navision 3.01 "Overflow in calculation of 1000*2147491". We have a very large number of transactions posted on a regular basis, the size of the db is 24Gb.

I read some postings relating this error message to journals with high number of lines - but since I am not trying to post anything it seems not applicable in my situation, or am I wrong?

please help me.

Denis Petrov

Denis Petrov.

    Set the debugger to active with breakpoint on trigges off to detect the object where this error occurs, copy a few of the code lines and post them here.

    The debugger is always installed together with the client, it can be switched on in the clients menu Tools > Debugger > Active

    From documentation:
    INTEGER
    Use this simple data type to store whole numbers with values that range from -2,147,483,647 to 2,147,483,647.

    Turn debugger on:
    Tools->Debugger->Active
    uncheck Tools->Debugger->Breakpoint on triggers.

    Or just find a code "1000*". Change to "100*" or "10*"

    1000*2147491 = 2147491000, now read Black Tigers Quote, you need to change the data type or variable from integer to Decimal.

    We had the same problem with a decimal field once, it was a new POS system in the middle east, each Product was so many thousand LCY, and the POS operator scanned the barcode into the quantity field! ](*,) and the Value went sky high, but did not complain, he voided the sale, but the Analysis Flowfield in head office just bombed out the form, we only found it after trawling through all the POS line table, so there is a limit even to decimal fields.
