synchronisation of the security

Hi

Using NAV 4 . Using windows logins for Navision. We are finding that everytime we create a new Windows Login in Navsion we need to synchronize - but to synchronize we need everyone off the system (50plus user system).

Do we need to kick everyone off navision to synchronized the logins? Is
there a more easier manageable way of doing this without having to get the existing users to log off?

Are you using SP1? It includes an option to synchronize only one login at a time, not all of them. But, that can still cause problems, because it will take me a good 30 seconds to synchronize each login, and the potential for locks are great during a 30 second time period.

I would synchronize when no one is on however.

Yes, the sync function is big pain... you need to run it when:

-you modify something in permission settings (permissions, roles, users)
-you add new table
-you change something connected to some SIFT settings (new SumIndexField added etc.)
