Hello,
Can any one give me a solution to import ANSI Characters like €,ž,... from a text file into Navision table.I have used a tool ANSI<>ASCII convertor found MIBUSO downloads.while importing it,Navison automatically converts ANSI characters present in codeunit 99999(ANSI<>ASCII convertor) into ASCII charcters.for example Symbol € is converted into symbol Ç.
Because of this Conversion. ANSI<>ASCII convertor tool is not working properly.Do I need to change any windows settings to avoid these problem. I am using Navision 4.0 SP1(Italy based) in Windows 2000 professional indian edition.

Navision uses ANSI not ascii so you don't need to do any conversion. Just load the file directly.0

Hello,
Thanks for reply,I tried to import the file directly but navision automaticaly converts ANSI characters into ASCII characters. For example € (ALT+0128) into Ç (ALT+128).I think Navision uses windows standard format.
Thanks,

The versions I have been using in the past years expect ASCII, not ANSI,
surely somewhat anachronistic for a windows software ;-)
If you open the textfile in Wordpad and save it as file type "Text Document (MS-DOS)" the special characters should come out right.Kai Kowalewski0 -
Hello Kowa
I think solution to these problem will be found on next version of navision.(Navision 5).Hope that supports double byte character representation.
Thanks,
