commerce server problem

hi,
i have been avle to install and run the application,database servers.also the commerce server 2002 is installe.now when i try to open the demo site it does not open.it says the page does not exist.
also do i need to start the database server from the command prompt or as service?
plz help its urgent? ](*,)
