posting prod journal/qty of raw materials not sufficient

In base Navision, if you try to post a production or consumption journal and you dont have the raw materials in stock, the system wont let you post. does anyone know how to get around this??

Dear Steve,
I think you must make a direct procurement to fill your stock and inventory or make a positive adjustment using item journal. You could did that using purchase order. Or would you like to post an empty inventory and make it as if there is a stock ?
