Help - ZUP file creating issues

Good Afternoon:
We are working on upgrading to Attain 3.7B and hope to go live shortly. Rather than using Navisions Manufacturing package we are using a product called "Job Manager" to produce finished goods. Our Job Manager add on has been highly modified so that it will conform to our business operations. One of the modifications we have recently had added is an "Auto Wip" and "Auto Recognize" process. It works in this manner. When we Post the Consumption of Goods the system automatically WIP's the consumables. When we post the "Production Journal" the system will then post the Recognition of that job.
When I began testing this process it worked OK. Then I started having problems with the Auto Recognition process (it wouldn't automatically recognize the job when I posted production). After some further testing it was recommended that I delete my ZUP file to see if that might have been the culprit. Upon deleting the ZUP file the process worked exactly as it was designed. This process worked for a few days and then all of a sudden the auto recognition process stopped working again. Once again it took a deletion of the ZUP file to fix this issue. This issue appears to happen on any workstation and since I am not sure what is causing this problem I'm unable to duplicate it.
I'm wondering if anyone here may have any thoughts as to what might be changing and/or causing the ZUP file to become corrupt so that this process will no longer work. We have asked our two developers and both are at a loss for why this is transpiring.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jerry Rininger

Just a guess but in your forms for your add-on there are field properties
SaveValues, if this is set to yes, it stores the info in the zup file. so when you run it the old values are being saved and the autopost might be using those old settings and seeing there is nothing to post using those setting.
there are several savexxxx entries that store stuff in the zup file.
just a guess, I am only an end user without developer license, so most problems are solve be trial and error.
it could also be the production posting form that is saving some setting, you might have to do some trial and error yourself0 -
If your process is applying filters to the form's record, and the form is being closed with the filter active, they are probably being saved to the zup file.
Have your process clear any filters at the end before closing the form. There are no bugs - only undocumented features.0 -
I wanted to post a Thank You to both bbrown and themave for their responses. By using that information I was able to figure out the the custom routine was using a standard processing report. Needless to say there are times when I had to manually recognize WIP for labor entries. When performing this manually it would save the job # I was working with and therefore when I was working with another job the auto recognition routine was being overridden by the job # that was previously used. Without your responses I wouldn't have known where to go and how to troubleshoot this problem.
Once again, Thanks!

Hello,
I have the same problem with ZUP file.
I am not really sure that I understood the reason correctly. Can you please explain it again.
What can lead to corrupt ZUP files?
Thanks.0
