hello
when running the "ship to address" report i receive this error and the report does not print.
OVERFLOW UNDER TYPE CONVERSION TEXT TO TEXT
VALUE: THERMO ELECTRIC DIVISION
i edited that particular customer thinking it was the only problem but the report just stops with the same error message and a new VALUE.
any thoughts?
thanks
brian

1. Is it a standard report ? If yes, gives please his ID
2. If it is customized, you have to look in Variable definition. there is certainly one variable for storing text that is not well formated with the correct size of the information you try to store in ...0 -

Because i can not find it ...0 -
What's the name of the field this value is in?
Have you tried turning on the debugger & seeing where it stops?0 -
the report ID is 10061. I have not debugged the program. the field i believe that is the problem is customer name.
thanks

I don't have your version of Navision, but we ran into a similar problem, it had to do with field sizes in the table and the report being different.
this report is combining name and name2 fields for both the customer and ship-to address.
check your name2 field on both of these. for a test delete info in name2 if there is any and run it again. Our problem was on a different report but basically it was trying to combine two 30 charater length fields into a 50 charater length field, the extra 10 charaters was causing the overflow.
good luck.0 -
thanks. i think my problem duplicates yours like you say.

Hi, reading the forum about the the upgrade in the future, I have a question. When we use the system, we find the customer name field of the Customer Table is not enough to hold more than 30 characters, so we increase it to 80 and change them in the related tables. We have Navion 4.0, but I have a thought that If we upgrade our system later on, will it bring any problems or do have to do anything now to prevent any problems? Thanks in advance!0
