Resetting Dimensions on posted transactions

Navision 4.0. Our Global Dimension 1 is Division.
Some of our Customer records have only had the Division dimension set recently, so any of the historical transactions for these customers cannot be analysed by dimensions.
The dimension values on the Customer have been set to Code Mandatory, so any orders created before the Dimension values were set are now giving errors that the DIVISION dimension is not set when trying to post shipments.
We have similar problems trying to Apply Entries on Customer Ledger Entries.
I'd like to correct the historical transactions to set the Division equal to the value currently associated with the Customer.
Any thoughts or tips on what I need to look out for & what files I need to update?
Thanks

I've done this a lot. The thing that you have to pay attention, the relationship between items that were sold to a customer. Make sure you populate the
Posted dimension tables and posted tables as well.0 -
Thanks Rashed,
Do you normally call standard code to update the dimension values (something like the Dimension Management codeunit) or do you write your own?
I've managed to correct the data in the Sales Header, Sales Line and Document Dimension table by validating the Shortcut Dim 1 value on the Sales Header, but I don't think the rest of the Dimensions (Ledger Entry and Posted Doc) are going to be as straightforward to fix.
