Technical Question:
Has anyone already installed a Navision Native Database Server 4.0 SP1 installed on a Win2003 X64 Version?
If yes, what are the experiences?
Indead, for Navision it will not gain advantages...
But we would install this on a cluster server in an active - active configuration Running Navision on Node 1 and SQL Server on the Second Node. So for the Operating System and for SQL Server it could gain performance.
I was interested more in possible disadvantages and errors with a 64Bit OS in combination with Navision
I was refering to Native Navision Server
So,
node 1 should run a native navision database 4.0 SP1
node 2 should run an datawarehouse on SQL Server
But in a cluster environment you install both applications on both nodes for in case one of the two nodes fails over!
We write our own SW using C/Side and C/AL. So we're not using the standard ERP system of navision. We still have some work to do to fully migrate to SQL. First steps where made....

For SQL. Yes you can run it but only with database authenication. Windows authenication doesn't work.

We are working with SQL 2005 x64 with Windows 2003 +SP1 x64 and Navision 4.0 SP1 and also using Windows Logins.
We only had a problem with the SQL dll for Windows Logins because this was not working with 64 bit SQL 2005.
But microsoft made a dll for us and now it's working.
