Navision 4.0 & avarage cost problem

Dear all,

My company use navision 4.0 (without SP1), costing method is avarage", avarage cost calc. type is "Item", automatic cost and expected cost posting not activated, we've manufacuring process like consumption and output. Whenever i run adjust cost it goes into some infinite loop and if it's done, value that it's adjusted is wrong. This is my question,

1. Does navision work on avarage costing ?
2. My key operator always don't post item serially. So in "Item Ledger Entry" greater "Entry No." maybe have prior "Posting Date" than lower "Entry No.", and it affects "Item Application Entry" too. Is it the cause of problem ?
3. I want to know "How costing works on this system", especially codeunit 5895 "Inventory Adjustment" and it's related object. Do anyone know where to find document about it ? (Document that explain what each function do and how it flow)
I need your help...

There are some whitepapers about the costing. The Average cost is working, but you need to be careful to which posting date you enter as parameter to the batch and when you are running the batch...

There are a lot of posts in this site regarding costing in Navision. If you did a search, there will be a lot of posts regarding this.

In general, Navision 4.0 costing works very well.

From My experience as long as you run adjust cost routine for average cost in periodic manner, you will have consistent results. And also please load SP1 improvements.
