Filter a report on the year

I want to be able to filter a report depending on the year that the user selects. For example if the user chooses the option 2005 i only want to return abscences that happened in this year. I have the summary working fine by using the DATE2DMY(Date,3) option after each recoerd but i am struggle just for this final bit. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

You can use the function DMY2DATE

DMY2DATE(1,1,DATE2DMY(xx));

SETRANGE("The Date",DMY2DATE(1,1,intYear),DMY2DATE(31,12,intYear));
