The "Adjust Cost - Item Entries" periodic activity does not update BOM component costs. Microsoft do not consider this a bug and have advised our customer to buy the manufacturing granule. Does anyone know of a fix for this routine?
Hi Karen,
May I know what version of navision do you use ? I use navision 4.00 sp 1, and here I use automatic cost posting and expected cost posting with always automatic cost adjustment check mark in tab general on inventory set up granule. Maybe you can use it instead of using adjust item cost entries. You may download inventory costing webcast to know more about auto post costing.

For BOM, you'll need to run the "Post Inventory Cost to G/L" process in order to update it to the G/L.
How do you enter the entries? Do you use BOM journal? or standard item journal? The problem with BOM journal is that you can't use serialized components. If you use item journal, there isn't any relationship between a component and finished good.

It is correct - the Item BOM is only something like component tree. But if you need to track costs etc., you need to use production module with the Production BOM. The simple BOM is not able to do that...
