can any one tell me the exact functionality of the postings wrt code units..etc..

Being the heart of the financial system, the posting codeunits are a dangerous area for anyone who's not having a very thorough knowledge of Navision internal workings. And even for the skilled developers, the rule is that there must a VERY good reason to change anything in the core modules.
