Yeah... I know about the freewares that will allow you to do that. I was thinking more along the lines being able to do this without having to install any additional programs.

You can use Navision to do it if you already have Navision installed.

Sure there is a SED for DOS.
I worked 13 years ago with it.
try this: http://www.faqs.org/faqs/editor-faq/sed/
But with SED you cannot remove blank spaces in the filenames within a directory.
SED is a batch editor with regular expressions to change/substitude/delete terms in multiple text files automatically.
