Hai, everybody ...
I have this problem with my navision Attain database. It works very slowly some the time.
I have installed the server database in the new workstations "HP" and use hardware like this :
PROCESSOR INTEL XEON 2.33 GHz (HP DL380 G5 Dual Processor)
RAM (HP 4 GB = 4 X 1 GB = 4 GB)
HARDDISK (HP HDSAS72GB/15K 7 x 72GB)
SMRTARRAY (HP SMA512MB P400)
PS (HP 800W REDUNDANT)
OPERATING SYSTEM Windows 2003 Server
DATABASE Microsoft SQL Server 2000
I have reached at the limits of my license and i have tested my database several times, but it didn't work. I don't know what to do more.
When previewing report inventory valuation, posting invoice or posting shipment, it's very slowly for the client PC and Server slowly too. When
Licensed Session use 77 sessions (Full).
Hope i have an answer from you!
My database is a microsoft sql server database 2000. It is a 55 Gigabyte database.
Hope i have an answer!
Regards,
Arman

Because you have 7 HDDs, I assume that one is hot-swap or you are using RAID 5. Which RAID you are using? Have you started the Win OS with /3GB switch to be able to use all the memory?
Are you using SQL Standard or Enterprise?0 -
I am Using SQL Server 2000 Enterprise and i cannot use all the memory when Win OS started.0
-
If you are not using the /3GB switch for the OS, SQL can use just 2GB and rest will be unused. It is wasting with memory...0

Somebody can help ? :?:0

It could be a number of different things.
for the posting issues there could be keys that are being maintained that aren't needed, especially those that have SIFT associated with them.
You are also on an older version of NAV. You could talk to your NSC about getting onto new version of the client executables.
There are some tools available to the NSC's that can also help look at where things are slowing down so they can help tune the database for better responsiveness.
