BOM item not picking Average Costing method

Hi Everyone,
I am new to Navision and i've just experienced a problem. In picking out the costing method of a BOM item, I am only presented with Standard Cost, and I am unable to change this costing method, I want to use Average costing.
Somebody has suggested to me that it could be a design issue as there has been problems in past releases of navision regarding average costing in BOM items, i am using NAV5. :-k
I know that and if you think I don't, I know that too

    If you want to do it than only option is to block the existing item and create new item and adjust the inventory level with same qty. and value. You need to also modified your BOM and component if there.
