open cash drawer

I this is my first post.
I have a problem with a cash drawer connected at epson receive printer with a RJ11 cable. With a printer driver i profit that the cash drawer open itselft at the end of printing, but i wont create a button for open only the cash drawer without print anything.
I try to create a blank report but not work.
Any idea? I use navision 3.70.

This doesn't sound as an NAV question...

i guess it is recommandable to contact your 'point of sale' hardware vendor to ask him how on documentation on how you can open the cash drawer from within software.
Probably it will be a 'steering char' to add in your report/text file or an automation control you can call

Based on his documentation you can find a solution.

The cash drawer is not conect a com port and the question is how to send to printer with navision a echo ascii or hex char for open the cash drawer.
temporaly i create a bat file and in onpush code call a shell script.
If something have any other idea please send me a privete msg.

Can you tell us how this cash drawer is connected with the client ?

the printer takes a special character as a command to open the drawer. Find what that character is. and print that on dummy report.
