Axapta integration questions

I am new to Axapta and would love to find answers to the following:
Can we integrate easily into the Axapta Enterprise Portal and what is the best way to do this?
Does Axapta have an API that we can use to access the data? What is the best way to do this?
Can we get data we need (Invoice data, PO data etc) by reading the MSSQL database direct?
Is it easy to make orders externally and feed them to Axapta?
Thanks.

Depending on what you wanted to do you may access the data via SQL directly or use the COM interface of Axapta. Regarding your EP question I am a little bit confused as I would say that you normally start with the “main” Axapta and then integrate the Enterprise Portal. Do you have already an Axapta EP running?
