Cannot Post Shipment for an Item: Problem with Item Tracking

Hi,

User is getting the following error message when posting the shipment for an item which has an Item Tracking Code attached:

" Item Tracking Serial No. PCT011041-0507-1 Lot No. for Item No. P000000009735 Variant cannot be fully applied."

On the Shipment window, after having called the sales lines from the sales order, the user clicks on Line > Item Tracking Lines.

He then clicks on the List of Values button in the Serial No. field.

We found that for the serial number we need to choose, Total Available Quantity is -1.

This could be the reason why the user cannot post the shipment.

Can someone please advise?

    It looks like you are using serial with Lot tracking. ouch.

    To solve those issues requires somebody to look at the data. I suggest contacting your NSC.

    My company experienced this exact problem two weeks ago, and had never seen it previously. We had to contact our re-seller to fix.

    What version of NAV are you on? we are on 4 SP3

    Hi,

    Thanks for reply.

    Our client is on 4.0 SP1.

    I made user check, there is no check on Lot No Tracking.

    What could be other possible reasons?

    Hi!

    This error comes if your Sales line Qty. does not match with
    your item tracking Qty.

    e.g In Shipment line Qty to Ship = 5
    and in Item tracking you have selected only 3 Sr. Nos.

    Then system will give you this error. Please check the Qty.

    Hi,

    This problem arose because the item was on a different location other than the one specified on the sales line.

    The user has transferred the item to the correct location and he was able to post the shipment.
