Whse Shipment Post with Charges possible?

Hi all...
Need some advise...
We are holding back converting to using whse mgt...
When not using whse mgt, the Sales Order can be posted with items & charges (GL Acct) into one Shipment document...
When using whse mgt, the shipment of Items will be posted to one Shipment doucment while the charges will be posted separately into another shipment document...

Our Shipment document contains the total amount & the customer's receiving dept will pay upon delivery, sort of like prepayment, if the amount is below their threshold, otherwise their accounts payment will pay upon receiving of invoice, which takes a long time.

Has anybody done anything such that when whse post the Shipment of Items, the charges are posted as well?

Hello hmmm (maybe get another screenname)?

On sales orders there is field called shipping advise. If you set it to complete, the warehouse shipment will post the G/L Lines.

Shipping Advice Field
The Sales Header Table

This field contains advice about whether the customer will accept a partial shipment of the order.

The program copies information from the customer card, but you can change the contents of this field if necessary.

What a big help the F1 does...

This definitely helps. Even our consultants are not aware of this!

LoL I didn't know until you asked the question. In one of our customers I knew that they were using whse mgt. and they were posting GL lines.
I thought it was a modification and looked for 30 min for the mod and didn't find it.
So I started to compare the way the orders were done and found out about it.

I think this should go to tips and tricks?

Sorry to dig an old thread.
But I have a question.

When we use "Shipping Advice: Complete", can we still do partial shipment ?
We are trying your solution about Item Charges.

We would like to use whse management to post delivery charges.
Because it's very tedious to post delivery charges after invoicing all items.

NAV will error if you try to post partial. You can either comment out the error and test it or make a mod to post the GL lines when posting partials.
