when i post an order (either invoice or ship&invoice) after the whole process I sometimes got an error: document type ... document no. ... doesn't exist.
this is the typical error that appears when navision try to work on a record which doesn't exist(or try to get a record using an empty primary key)
after the error the transaction completes succesfully and the order is rightly <-- (does this word exist? ) deleted
why this happens?and why only sometimes?
thank you in advance

I think it is rather an error in some customization. I think there is some code after the posting process. Maybe the form that tries to refresh itself.Regards,Alain Krikilion

in fact I was surprised when I didn't find any topic on this...I thought it was a customization but another customer encountered the same problem and I tought that it was not probable that we customized 2 customer in the same way...well, thank you. Now I know it's not standard...I'll take care of it0

The problem can be, that the customer set filter for the document No. before the document is posted, and then post the document. It means, that document will be deleted (because is saved as invoice and shipment) and thee form has still filter for the document. After the posting CU is finished, form wants to update controls and tried to find the record. But it is not existing now...
Check the process which are users using to find the document and if there are some filters set before posting...0 -
I toggled the [solved] because after reviewing the code I didn't find anything in the personalized code...by the way I managed to "produce the error manually": when posting the sales order I clicked on cancel button on the process window...as this error shows randomly (except when clicking cancel)...I'll try to post many many orders using filters.
another info: I phoned the customer this morning and he says that this error force him to exit navision because it crashes.
reentering NAV the order is succesfully posted :shock:0
