Hi,
I have 2 PCs (running on Win XP) which encountered this error message when logon to Navision.
“Microsoft Business Solution Navision has encountered a problem and need to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.”
When press OK to message, it will close Navision and restart.
All the while, the users is using without problem till today.
We are using Navision 4.0 SP1 with SQL Server 2000.
I have tried reinstall the client software and delete zup file, the same problem.
Anyone can help?
Thanks.
Rgds,

1) Try to check the Event log for more info
2) I recommend to install NAV 4.00SP30 -
I beleive it might be the intallation of Navision that is causing the problem, during the installation process of Navision, it writes its own registry entries....may be this is place where it goes wrong.
I have a cleint using 4.0 SP3 but they are still facing the problem and yes the OS is windows XP, howerver I have not tried to fix the problem with a new instllation, so the problem persists in SP3 also.Diptish Naskar

If you're just experiencing the problem today, there are a few areas you can look into:
1. Windows updates that were installed
2. Viruses
3. Other software that was installed yesterday.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

1) SP3 is a must in this situation.
2) Compile all objects while everyone is logged out of Navision.
3) Restart the back-end server for good measure.
I had those same problems when upgrading to 4.0. These steps fixed it.There is no data, only bool!0 -

Dear ALL,
We have managed to solve the problem. After we delete the zup file, we can connect without error.
Previously, the IT person did not delete it. She just fix it using 1 of the utility that used to fix menu suite problem.
Thanks to all. Have a great day.
