posting problem

when i m posting the sales invoice the other clients speed becomes very slow there databse is about 90GB.20 users at a time do the work at the same time. when 1 client is working then the other clients have to wait bcoz the speed while posting the sales invoice becomes very slow.please tell me the reason.

That is due to the database engine locking resources. While it is writing records into the ledgers, it locks other processes out of those tables for the duration of the transaction.

Vikram, rather than posting the same thing three times in separate threads, why not stick it out in one thread. I am guessing that you are after a magic answer like "Press XYZZY" and magically it will all be fixed. That just ain't gonna happen sorry.

one thing that also slows posting of sales invoices is if your have

update on posting turned on for your analysis views, this adds a lot of overhead and slows things down.

plus post on the fastest machines or after hours

Some of our machines are faster (newer) than others. When I post on those fast machines compared to the older ones - it's like night & day
