Zup-File message by closing the client

Sometimes the message appears:

"would you like to overwrite the Zup file?"

- why can this message does appear?

- can i prevent this message ?

    Hi.

    This message appears, when you have opened two (or more) instances of the client running on the same ZUP file (default fin.zup) . When you close first client, it saves window settings in ZUP file. Then, when you close second client, it tries to save changes, but it discovers, that ZUP was modified, so client asks, if you want to overwrite changes.

    If you do not want this message, do not open two instances of client running with the same ZUP file ;-).

    I think, you cannot dismis this message.

    As i understand it the ZUP file contains all the user preferences for Navision.

    i.e. if a user changes the layout of the sales line columns then this information would be saved in the ZUP. AS it recognises that the information within the ZUP has changed you will be aske if you want to save the changes.

    So, if the user adds/deletes columns, adds report filters etc. then your user should be answering YES to this question.

    The other posts are quite correct - both Navision form changes and connection information is saved in the zup file. If you need to access multiple databases, the best idea is to use the "ID=xxx.zup" switch on the properties for the shortcut that runs the executable. Providing you don't change connections (ie to different databases) while using the one client, you should virtually never encounter this message.

    so where is the right place to include the switch? in the 'Target' field or the 'Shortcut' field?
    how abt an example to illustrate how the switch should be placed?
