I need to know what test I need to take to receive a New Developers License. I am not working for a Solution Center. I am working for the end user Company. My License has expired and MSB said I need to be recertified. Where do I go to find out What test I need to take to get my Developers license again.

If you have access to customer source, you can logon and see the exams required.
What's nice about customer source is that MSFT has decided to offer eLearning for FREE!!!Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

This I do not know. How do I find out?0

As an enduser you can never have a developers license like this, only NSC's can have this.
The official way to solve this issue is to buy the development granules. They will never expire.0 -
We have an employee that has a full developers license. this company was looking into getting a partner status. My license expired because I need to retest. I am trying to do this. Can you help me with information?0

We have purchased Development granual0

If you purchased the development granule, then it shouldn't expire and you shouldn't have to retake the exams.
Only the solution center licenses expire, so it sounds like you're using an illegal copy of the license for development...Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Customer license don’t expire. Only partner licenses expire. In license check name, should have the customer name.
I advice you to check in the license the development granules. There are several development granules that customers can use.0 -

Yes, I use to work for solution center and it expired.
We have another license that the company purchased for developers.
We have another Developer that has him reissued Full developers license.
This totals 3 license.
Mine=expired, Company = purchase Dev and employee=Full Dev License.
The other developer will not let me use his which is why I l would like to retest and get my new Full Dev License.
This company is not doing anything illegal!!
SO CALM DOWN everyone.0 -
If this company aquires a partner status and pays the fee then I can get new Dev License?0
-
How do you become an independent contractor? Do they not have full Dev License?0

It's hard to remain calm when solution centers works so hard to get their license and partner status, then an unethical employee steals their license and go works for the end user.
The employee is employed by the employer (duh), if the employer is aware that the employee is stealing copyrighted material from another company to do work for the employer, then the employing company is doing something illegal. So legally, your company is doing something illegal...Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Contact the Microsoft office and ask them how you can become a Microsoft partner. If not, just ask your company to buy the developer license. It's much easier.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

So why are you trying to recertify? If your company already have a developer license, you shouldn't have problems developing for your company? :-kConfessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

As far as I know MSFT does not issue NAV developer licenses to individuals, only to solution centers. As far as I know the only way to get them to issue one is to tie the license request to a solution center. Anyone who does so without working for that solution center is doing something illegal. I don't mean to accuse anybody for doing anything illegal, but I don't know of any legal way of doing what you are describing.
When you buy the developer granules as an end customer, it doesn't expire. The only license that expires is a solution center developer license. It doesn't expire because of a certification date, but because of a license fee that must be paid.
Just to put it in perspective, each developer license costs a solution center thousands of dollars. We might just be talking about a little 16k binary file here, but it represents actual money being transferred, and if that is not done legally, then I'd say there is cause to be upset. Thousands of dollars is a big deal where I come from.0 -
How does one become an independent contractor...Have a full dev license without working for a solution center?0

How does one become an independant Developer. I know that there are many people out there that work for themselves as developers. What do I need to do to get a legal Full Dev License? I am trying to do the right thing. I am an honset person.
Should I let my boss know that this other developer is doing something illegal? I really did not know this.0 -

You won't be able to.. You have to contract with a solution center and ask permission to use their license to service their clients.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

To my knowledge, MSFT never gave individual licenses. It was an individual license, however, it was assigned to the solution center as well.I am trying to do the right thing. I am an honset person.

You're only in trouble if MSFT comes after you. In which case, consult your lawyer.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

When Navision hasn’t a division of Microsoft, in some countries Navision issued some licenses to individuals, I don’t remember the technical name of those individuals.
Now Microsoft only grant license to partners, and partners distribute license by their employees.
Freelancer Developers exists, but they are normally supported by a partner.0 -
Hello,
Could anybody tell me how much do the development granules cost?0 -
About $30,000 US last I saw. I don't know if that includes report writer, dataport writer, etc. That might cost more.0

$36,000.00 to be exact. (App. Build plus solution developer).
The solution developer granule is not assigned to the individual, it's assigned to the company. So this means that if you're a contractor and you convinced your customer to buy the solution developer granules, you will not be able to use it to develop granules that the customers did not purchase.
For most companies, buying the Application Builder (8k) is more than enough.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog
