WMS Inventory Load preserving FIFO Layers?

During the initial inventory load, I am trying to determine the Best Practice to load full WMS inventory while preserving the FIFO layering from the legacy system. Microsoft was not very helpful with this question and suggested I check with some folks who may have already gone through this.
Any thoughts?

WMS does not have layering. Load the warehouse through warehouse journal. Post it. To keep the layering, You need to load the data into Item journal, without the BIN. Post it.
Afterwards when you run adjust whse. routine on item journal. you shouldn't get
lines.
You can only keep FIFO layer on item ledger at location level.
Hope this helps.0 -

you are welcome

I'm curious why MS didn't give you an answer.0 -
I know! Their response was simply to use the Whse. item Journal to load the quantities, and then Calc. Whse Adjustment. Which obviously is the exact procedure for WMS inventory, however it didn't help with the FIFO layering question. At least they suggested I ask in the Online Communities, but yes with as simple a solution as this I am a bit irked that they couldn't make the same suggestion you did. One of our developers suggested MIBUSO first and Microsoft as a last resort going forward.
Thanks again!!!-MP0
