Hi I tried to run Navsion in Vista, but it gives the ODBC error and how to fix it? Thanks!

1)Reinstall Windows XP
2)Upgrade to Ver 4 SP3

Maybe not, but you can't just install Vista first & expect everthing to be fine.

You should make sure FIRST that Nav will run on Vista and by searching the forum you will see many people having problems.

Sooo, Always research that your important apps will run & be compatable before changing an OS. Instead of finding out afterwards that it may not be the case.

Or you can use virtual PC (2007 beta).
You'll still have to install Windows Xp, which is not quick

, but you can keep running Vista as OS.

I agree with Savatage, first research if everything will run well in your production environment ... .

I agree... But the assumption there is that Vista will have no problems running Navision.

This is from experiences running Navision with Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP. They all seem to run fine, then comes Vista... ](*,)

Good thing MSFT finally released a patch, but it requires the client to be current on their enhancement plan as well as upgrading their executables to 4.x.

Which means that we can't go to Vista until all of our customers have, or run extremely slow machines and having to purchase massive amounts of storage to accommodate VPC images for all our customers.

Note; I've had these disks forever it seems I have not installed Vista yet (except for some of the first betas) Does it allow dual installation? where you can boot to either or????

I have triple installation on my home PC (XP, Suse Linux, Vista 64bit). And it took some time but it is working now (XP and Linux are on one HDD Vista is on 2nd HDD). I am using Grub loader to boot all the systems.
