Controlling of Printjobs, i.e. using printer commands

Our company bought a shiny new printer (HP 9040) for invoicing,
so we do not need those old 9-pins anymore.

One graet advantage with this new printer is its ability to staple your printouts right after printing. But, unfortunately, we have to print multiple copys of our invoices, with a "copy" stamp fromof the second printout.
Therefor, our reports use a copyloop...but then teh printer driver generates only 1 printjob, so the printer will punch 1 Staple through ALL 2 or 3 copies. Otherwise, if I set the number of copies in the printer driver dialogue, I will not have that "copy" stamp ...

Now my question is: Does anyone know, how to implement a steering command into the printout, taht tells the printer when to punch a staple ?

Might be more of a HPGL or PCL-Question, but maybe someone has got experience in this stuff...

    Nope... Navision uses the print driver for all of its printing. You're better off posing this question on the HP printer forum.

    There is another solution, that is probably a lot easier. You can change the Navision report to print 3 separate reports. The printer will handle them as 3 separate print jobs, and staple them separate. You have to create a new report that calls the old report 3 times, and makes one copy each.

    The number 3 can be other numbers. It's basically the number of copies you want to print.


    The End result, 3 copies each stapled separately
