Reconfigure Navision Application Server (NAS)

I would like to reconfigure a NAS installed as a service on a database with 2 companies.
The point is to change the company parameter of the NAS (on predefined intervals).
I have tried stopping the service, changing the company parameter in the windows-registry, and starting the NAS-Service again. This works for a while, but crashes after some time.
I know it's possible, because if you use the "Navision Attain Application Server Manager" to change the company, it sends the NAS a "reconfigure request" (At least it say's so in the event viewer...)
Starting two Application Servers would do it, but then we need a new licence for the second NAS. I would like to avoid that...
Any suggestions?

Are you sure that you need another licence for the second NAS?
If you ran 2 instances then you can use each to address a specific company.0 -
Yes, if I run 2 instances, I get the following message in the Event Viewer:
"Your program license does not permit more users to work simultaneously.
Wait until another user has quit the program.
Contact your system manager if you want to allow more simultaneous users on your system."0 -
Do this, works well:
Install 2 Navision Application servers with different parameters.
Start and stop them as you like with:Net Start NAS1Net Stop NAS20 -
hi,
From your postings it seems that you have been able to install a 2nd NAS service. I have some problems in installing a second NAS.
The command i used was:
nas appservername=virtualpc-classic2,
servername=virtualpc, company="CRONUS2",
startupparameter=SS, nettype=TCP, installasservice
the result was:
Date: 07/06/05
- 10:02:06 AM:
10:02:06 AM: Navision Application Server version 4.0
(Build 19365)

10:02:06 AM:
- 10:02:06 AM: The operating system returned the error
(1072):
10:02:06 AM:
10:02:06 AM: The specified service has been marked for
deletion.

I have tried running the same command after i restart the server. I still get the same error.0
