Exchange Rate by Invoice

Hi,

Is it possible to specify exchange rate by invoice? I knew that you can enter the exchange rate on the currencies table but that rate affect all the transactions for that currency on that day. Can we adjust exchange for individual purchase invoice?

Thanks

Yes. The exchange rate is stored on sales header table. you can change it on order by order basis.

The currency exchange rate has a date field so that it will only effect new orders and not existing orders. I suggest you use this option.

The exchange rate fluctuates many times in a day. It is not always possible for the company to feed the exact rate at the time of the transaction. Therefore accounting standards allow you to define a average rate for a week/month. In that case you should use date option in the currency exchange rate table/form. If the client insist on accurate feeding then you should change the rate on the sales invoice header as narrated in the above post.
