error running the http://localhost/default.aspx

I am getting error while running the http://localhost/default.aspx

Server Error in '/' Application.

The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Please help me where I went wrong.

    I'm afraid we'll need A LOT more information than that in order to help you.

    What are you expecting the URL to give you? Sharepoint Homepage??
    Have you configured Sharepoint and IIS correctly? Is IIS started?

    Please provide more information on what it is you are trying to achieve.

    Dear StevO,
    I have gone through the EP.pdf to install the Employee Portal but at a certain point my nav DB Server got corrupted and I have installed it again then after that I have installed the navision Client,Db server, NAS, EP all again.

    Have you installed Sharepoint Services?

    The error that the resource does could not be found implies that it is a problem with the web side. I would recommend that you try to get Sharepoint working without worrying about Employee Portal.

    Once that is up and running, then worry about installing EP.

    Yes I have installed Sharepoint Services. When I browse through the default website from IIS Manager then the window comes as under
