permission problems

We are currently implementing Navision and it seems the norm for the implementors to suggest that we leave all computers with free access within a role, we think this may be a bit dangerous. Does anyone know of any standard role descriptions, and what may be standard permissions for e.g. a guy in the warehouse booking in deliveries. From what I can see the guy can change the purchase order if he wishes, if he has full permission, or cannot change the posting date or quantaties received ( if part delivery) with partial permissions.

You should make your own roles base on how standard permissions work.

We would love to, but what we have found is that it is not that simple as there is not a list that explains that if you want to do a certain task you would need these roles.
For example posting purchase orders, you would think the role should be, post purchase orders! but this does not allow quantities to be changed for part deliveries or posting date cannot tbe altered.

    Hello,
Setting up permissions in Navision is far from being easy, but if you want to secure your system, you have no choice.
Fortunately, there is a tool facilitating this : User Right Setup; you can get it from Mibuso downloads or from PartnerSource (in Navision tools).

Wish you to get the best from that !
    Best Regards

    Hi,

It can be because of only one reason..

1> License File does not give you permission to create table in that particular no. series.

check the license and the no series u trying for the table.
    Thanks,
