Hi expert. I have some questions and I need your assistance.
1. If we have factory in the foreign country, how to let them access the sytem and enter product information into the system.
2. How to link the system with our website and let our customer enter the sales order directly from our website.
Thanks in advance!

1. citrix or terminal services.
2. create an order entry system on your website, and integrate with Navision
2. purchase TradePoint addon that allready does this.
2. Commerce portal. (wouldn't suggest);
2. Employee portal, depending on number of customers.0 -
May be a small addition:
1. Jetro Cockpit (or Citrix or TS)
2. You can create this your own:
- Add a sales order module to the web site
- This calles a webservice
- the webservice puts something in your message queue
- The NAS reads the message queue
- NAS inserts in temp table and checks the data (for error logging) (optional)
- NAS inserts into NAV Tables.
2. buying already existing addons has advantages (prooved technology), but also disadvantages (costly; not customizable).0 -
Thanks! How to create an order entry system to link our website with Navision. Any reference article for me to read? Thanks!0

If they only need 1 session, the most cost effective way is to use VPN w/ Remote Desktop.
Cost effective in a way that it's FREE!Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

You may only need terminal server, it is included with windows 2003 server, you will need to license the terminal server users separatly. Read the terminal server sizing guide, it has a good history and explanation of the differences between terminal server and cirtix.
Citrix and Jetpro sit on top of and add to terminal server. (yes citrix is a separate product) they add additional features to the basic terminal server, such as better administration, ica client support, ect. But they cost a lot more and terminal server may very well server your needs.
Jetpro is not a standalone product it requires the terminal server or citirix

As a side note, if you are still using window 2000 server (like us) and your clients are w2k clients, then no additional terminal server licenses are required, but in win2003 r2 they eliminated the equvilant license from terminal server, so you have to purchase separate cals for win20030 -
