Validation during Convert Lead

Hi,
In Lead Section, I would like to know if its possible to do validation when "Convert Lead" (to account,Opportunity,Contact) is used to convert to an Account. This validation is to avoid duplicate accounts getting generated from Lead Conversion. Plz let me know the place and how to do the validation?

You can't modify the Conversion Wizard, but you could write some kind of validation using a callout.0
