Is it somehow possible to post the expected costs / profits to the G/L even before you have received or shipped the items.

I know you can turn on the feature to calculate the expected costs on the moment you receive or ship the items, but we want to know the costs / profits on the moment we have confirmed the order, like WIP.

    In standard Navision, there is no solution for your question. Allways first fysical movement, then financial.

    I think what you are looking for is Revenue Recognition. \:D/

    Is this an add-on ?

    Even if you know that there is a recognition in the revenue, this doesn't mean that you can make an invoice in Navision BEFORE you ship/receive the items.

    Not by worldwide standard. Unless you happen to find something for it in your localisation or in an add-on, it's a customization. In the UK localisation there are reports for it (called unposted sales/purchase) but can only be posted manually.

    If you want to avoid too much programming, a simple report showing ( quantity-quantity shipped ) * line amount , filtered for orders where number printed <> 0, can show it without any programming and you can post manually to the G/L. Or, a better and more expensive option is having the report create and post G/L journal lines.
