Warehouse Management default bin for items

Hello
One of our customer is asking if there is such functionality in WMS for default bin for items. Items are usually stored in certain bins. So when the goods arrive in warehouse the putaway needs to suggest those bins.
I was thinking of using bin size and item size in a way to suggest the bin.
Is there a way to suggest that these items go to these area/zone/bin?
thank you.

Under the Bin Content, there is a check box called Default Bin. If you check this on in combination with Fixed, you're telling Navision that this item is defaulted to this bin.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

No problem.
If you can mark the topic as [SOLVED] that would be just wonderful.

This however will not prevent the system from placing another item in that bin. There are no bugs - only undocumented features.0

will the system ever suggest that bin for other items?
I'm ok if the user puts items in manually.my 2 cents0 -
Yes. It depends on the configuration of your bins and put-away templates. To prevent this, assign each item to at least 1 fixed bin and don't include floating bins in your put-away templates. There are no bugs - only undocumented features.0

It's highly recommended that you use floating bins in WHM. Because if that bin is filled up, you need Navision to be able to assign the item to another bin. Or else the warehouse staff will get errors left and right.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

I am not saying don't use floating bins, just don't include them in the put-away template. There are no bugs - only undocumented features.0

But if you don't put floating bins, what will you do with new items that the user did not set a default fixed bin?Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Please take the time to read my response:I am not saying don't use floating bins, just don't include them in the put-away template.
What I am saying is use floating bins, just don't include an entry for them in the put-away templates. The system considers every bin, even if it has another item is fixed to it, to be a floating bin. If floating bins are included in the put-away template, the system may suggest putting items into bins dedicated to other items.
Set put-aways to show all lines. The items where dedicated bins are full will print without suggested bins. The staff can place them into the overflow (floating) bins and update the documents before registering. There are no bugs - only undocumented features.0
