Navision Implementation

How difficult is it to implement a basic navision solution? Does it require special training or can a person do it by themselves? Is there a guide/tutorial/step by step installation procedure?
I've heard of a business that bought the software and implemented it themselves.

sure,
I you could obtain training material. And I you know how you setup a financial program. And if you don't have any customizations. And if you have plenty of time.
but, I think Navision is the most simple program to setup in it's market. Pitty there is not a very good set of documentation around

Our previous ERP pacakge was a very simple to install next-next-next-finish installation structure.
I haven't looked at the setup of Navision but the way people talk about it, it sounds like the most complex ERP package to setup when compared to other solutions on the market. Almost like their is no install shield program and the partner has to sitdown manually and compile different pieces of code together in order to get it operational.
I have seen mixed reactions about setting it up. Some people who say you can and some who say you can't.
Have you setup and installed navision? Can an end user set it up if they had a good computer bacground?
Would setting up EDI and eship software be considered customizations?
Thanks for your help.0 -
Installing Navision is different from setting up Navision.
Installing Navision is the Next, Next, Next, Next and Finish part. Setting up Navision to work with it is quite a lot of work. Setup is for example:
Import / Create Items, Customers, Vendor, Ect...
Setting up an account ledger.
Setting up all kinds af postinggroups.
etc...
It's just a pretty big job if you don't know Navision. Maybe the best thing is to hire a person who can do this for ya."Real programmers don't comment their code.

It costs half my salary to hire a Microsoft Certified Partner to do this. Also, it will help me learn and be the knowedlgeable one on staff to troubleshoot problems.
Where can someone get the training material to setup Navision?
The tasks you listed are tasks I am capable of setting up given proper documentation.
I appreciate comments from anyone regarding setting up of Navision.
Thanks!0 -
Well, ietherway you have to nuy Navision from a NRC (navision dealer). This NRC sould be able to provide you with documentation. Hopefully
