Bank Account and G/L Account Difference

I have a problem where a journal was posted with one side the G/L Account for the Bank Acount and the other side the actual bank account.
This has resulted in the bank ledger entry of -1000 being created and then 2 entries in the G/L Account one 1000 the other system created -1000.
This obviously means that the bank is greater than the nominal account by -1000.
Can anyone suggest how to correct this?
Thanks...
John

Dear John,
Also ensure that all the group/control/reconciliation account in the G/L (Chart of Accounts) are not marked for Direct Posting. This will ensure that no such posting, as you mentioned, will be posted in the system.CA Sandeep Singla
