Hi

Sorry for another Zetafax post - i can see there are a fair few in newsgroups. All posts are questions with Navision already setup to use ZetaFax.

My question is how do you get Navision to use ZetaFax or any fax software? Is it a simple case of printing to a fax m/c?

Please advise

Many Thanks

    The fax-server installs a fax-printer on your PC, just like a pdf-printer.
The Navision reports you want to fax needs to be modified to pass the fax number and recipient ID to the fax-printer. This is done by adding some embedded commands in the Header-section of the report, which are read and interpreted by the fax-server.

    See http://www.mibuso.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3491 for an example.

    thanks for the update:

can you create a fax button on a Navision form to fax the the details to the contact listed on the form etc...?

Or do you have to use the print report method?

Print report is the most easy one. I know you need to have a report then to show that data.

You could also screen-capture your current window to a pdf file (think about snagit) and send then the pdf, but you can't use the embedded commands in the header of the pdf, so you need to send it on another way as fax. Many fax-software, when installed on the server, add the possibility to a exchange server to use the fax: to command. Then a mail with this to field would pass the information to the fax-server, but I don't know if zetafax can do this.

Zetafax and Faxmaker can do this. Lately it's a trend to use an external faxserver like efax.
